Marco Silva makes Andreas Pereira demand for Liverpool after Fulham transformation

Fulham manager Marco Silva is keen for Andreas Pereira to keep up his impressive performances as he pushes his team for the Premier League run-in. The 28-year-old has been influential for the Whites throughout the campaign, earning him a recall to the Brazil squad.

Pereira proved to be the hero for Fulham at West Ham United last weekend, netting a brace to secure the club’s first win in four games. Despite not scoring since August, Pereira has been pivotal with eight assists, the highest in the Fulham squad this season.

This has brought him back into contention for Brazil, featuring in the friendlies against England and Spain during the March international break. Silva acknowledges Pereira’s impact, especially considering his transition from a deeper midfield role to a more attacking position since joining Fulham, but believes there is plenty more to come from the former Manchester United midfielder.

“Andreas, last season made a huge impact. Before he joined us, he played more as a second midfielder and not so offensive,” Silva said. “This season, he is going to have one of the best assist records for us and we will demand more. Last week, he showed the desire to arrive in the right areas.”
